Built in 1.750 to a simple period design and later, around 1.800, reformed by architects specializing in the art of the epoch who restored the facade, carved new figures in the central columns and added typical renaissance decoration.
The Palace belonged to the Azcárate family, an influential military family with strong connections in the area. The Azcarate´s also owned other palaces of considerable importance in the north of Spain, along with lands that stretched to the capital Madrid.
The present reformation has preserved the original design of the facade whilst completely renovating the interior to offer all the comforts of a modern hotel.
